...Conway is the greatest... this album came along in 1987 and it featured the huge #1 Radio and Records hit "Julia". the song featured a twinkling piano as it's hook, with Conway delivering the song as only he could: "you were always there for me, Julia. i was so afraid to fall in love. i thought you'd wait for me, but is it too late for me, now? have you given up?". on the Mexican-influenced title track, Conway sings about familiar territory: lothario romance. the song is about a man's weakness for love but he must decide whether or not to cheat on his wife. "Borderline, don't let me cross over. She's right behind me in the moonlight. Lord knows i've tried to think of my lover, Borderline, don't let me cross her tonight" goes the chorus of the song. "That's My Job" closes the album. "I Want To Know You Before We Make Love" features Conway's signature showstopping long notes. "Fifteen to Forty Three" is about a guy who looks back in his past and is sad about the present. "I'm for Awhile" is a sing-a-long type of song one might find on a John Mellancamp album of the same era. "Everybody Needs a Hero" is a rocking blues-type song about childhood idols. "Snake Boots" is a novelty song. "Not Enough Love To Go 'Round" is a haunting love ballad, highlighted by the quivering guitar notes and Conway's seductive narrations. did i forget to mention that i LOVE this album! it's one of Conway's greatest albums. BORDERLINE/ CONWAY TWITTY VERY HARD TO FIND,IF YOU CHECK OUT THE TRACKS YOU'LL SEE IT HAS A COUPLE SONGS YOU WON'T FIND ON ANY OF HIS OTHER RECORDING: FOR INSTANCE, BORDERLINE, SNAKE BOOT, EVERYBODY NEEDS A HERO, & FIFTEEN TO FORTY THREE, NOT ENOUGH LOVE TO GO AROUND, I'M FOR A WHILE. THIS IS TRULY A RARE FIND, & WORTH EVERY CENT YOU PAY. I GOT LUCKY & FOUND SOMEONE WHO HAD IT, BUT NOT WITHOUT A LOT OF SEARCHING. SEE IT! BUY IT!TRUST ME IF YOU ARE A CONWAY TWITTY LOVER, YOU HAVE TO GET THIS ONE!!! I'D RATE IT RIGHT TO THE TOP, FOR ANY COLLECTOR. One Of Conway's Best Albums They say things get better with age and conway Twitty proves that with this album. This project contains the hits "Julia", "I Want To Know You Before We Make Love" and "That's My Job" It also contains other great tracks such as "Fifteen To Fourty-Three" "Everybody Needs A Hero" and the title track "Borderline." The late 80's until his death were some of his best years musically, however his albums from this time were some of the worst selling of all of his albums. This is music that laid the groundwork for the pop-style country music of today. This album is a great from the "High Priest of Country Music." H proves through this CD why he was "the best friend a song ever had."
