The Mac is great live This live set from a 1997 reunion concert shows that even though they hadn't played together in years (not to mention the fact that they can hardly stand each other anymore), they are still masters of their profession. This concert features their classic lineup from the 1970's, with Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie all sharing lead vocals. While featuring a set of their classic songs, as well as a few new ones, Fleetwood Mac puts out one of the best live albums ever recorded. No Fleetwood Mac concert would be complete without a healthy dose of "Rumours" material, and with renditions of "The Chain", "Don't Stop", "Go Your Own Way", and the Stevie Nicks masterpiece "Dreams" it is very well represented. Other gems include even older works like "Rhiannon" and "Landslide", as well as '80s hits like Christy McVie's "Everywhere" and "Big Love". "Silver Springs" is an awesome addition from Nicks, and even received some serious radio time. Lindsey Buckingham also adds two great new tracks in "Bleed to Love Her" and "My Little Demon", and the live version of his eclectic masterpiece "Tusk" really does the song justice. For those unfamiliar with Fleetwood Mac, this is a great performance to discover their work. They still sound great, and play with the same energy they did twenty years ago. When you hear the word super-group the name Fleetwood Mac leaps to mind, and here's a taste of just why that is. "THE CHAIN" GOES ON! "The Dance" is a live album recorded during their '97 comeback tour. 17 songs that are just vintage Fleetwood Mac. This album sounds so good that it sounds as if it were recorded in the studio. All of the familiar Mac hits are here, including: "The Chain", "Dreams", "Landslide", "Go Your Own Way", and "You Make Loving Fun" are just some of the songs you'll hear. Also "Tusk" and "Don't Stop" which feature the USC marching band backing the group in a fantastic mixture of rock and a brass section which gives it a unique sound. The 1987 hit "Big Love" is played by Lindsey Buckingham by himself in a dazzling array of singing and guitar playing. There are also some great new songs on here that are instant classics. "Temporary One", "I'm So Afraid", and "Sweet Girl" are my favs of the new songs. And the song "Silver Springs" which is a Stevie Nicks classic is on here. This album was Grammy-nominated for a reason: VINTAGE FLEETWOOD MAC. Stevie Nicks is in top form with her sexy, husky vocals. This band has incredible chemistry, so it is no wonder why they've been around for over 25 years. This is great, timeless classic rock that will live on for another 25 years and beyond. So if you don't have it, then get off your Futon and get it! A CD to be Listened to Over and Over. This CD is truly awesome. How many times has MTV done an event such as a Unplugged, and the CD has stunk? This CD has not a bad song on it, and if you watched the production you'll remember the incredible finale with the marching band. The marching band is here in full force on "Don't Stop". I must confess I didn't buy Fleetwood's newest CD, and went for this one instead. I wasn't disappointed. I must say I did feel it was a bit overproduced for a live record, but other then that, Fleetwood perfection!
