Country Like It Used to Be I was raised around what is now "classic" country music. My folks listend to Jimmy Reed, Willie Nelson&Waylon Jennings. I always preferred a rawer, more honky-tonk country sound as opposed to countrified pop like Shania Twain or Billy Ray Cyrus. I bought "Notorious" because of "Elvis&Andy". I thought it was a neat little novelty song, and I didn't expect much from the rest of the disk. Man was I wrong. This is good, old fashioned country music. The disk kicks off with a great ballad, "Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind", that is touching and will stay with you long after the album is over. "Notorious" is a great country song, that has an excellent guitar track. "Three Verses" is another touching ballad. "Redneck Romeo" is hilarious, mainly because everyone knows someone who resembles the man they are singing about. There is just some really good music on this album. If you are tired of "Pop" country, pick up this disk.
