Tracks Message of Love One More When You Love a Woman If He Should Break Your Heart Forever in Blue Castles Burning Don't Be Down on Me Baby Still She Cries Colors of the Spirit When I Think of You Easy to Fall Can't Tame the Lion It's Just the Rain Trial by Fire Baby I'm A Leavin' You [Hidden Track]
Return of the Titans After a 10 year layoff the classic line up returns with a vengence. For some reason I waited until now to purchase this disc but have purchased "Arrival" and "Generations". There's all this talk about "Higher Place" or "Faith In The Heartland" being "Seperate Ways II". Forget it, there is no need to revisit "Seperate Ways" or "Frontiers" for that matter, however for those looking for "Seperate Ways II" then "Message of Love" is it.
"Trial By Fire" is a nice progression from "Raised On Radio". In my very overly-biased opinion it is what "Raised On Radio" should have been. This line up is screaming! Solid performances all around along with great writting. Perry, Cain and Schon constructed some memorable melodies in "When You Love A Woman" "Message of Love" "Should He Break Your Heart". The only tracks I'm not crazy about are "Castles Burning", "Don't Be Down On Me Baby" and the "hidden track". Cut the fat and you have a release that superseeds "Frontiers"
Without question, the last of the classic Journey. As far as I'm concerend the new Journey sounds like a garage band looking for it's sound.
Journey - 'Trial By Fire' (Sony) Apparently, their last work with frontman Steve Perry and quite the let down.'Trial...' was the band's '96 comeback attempt, but if I remember correctly this CD was a stiff from the get-go.I tried SO hard to get into this fifteen track disc, but even with a duration of 68 minutes,I just couldn't.The songs don't completely suck, they just don't appear to have much life.Fantastic cover, don't you agree? If you're an old school Journey fan,I encourage you to check out their new 2005 release,'Generations' with vocalist Steve Augeri, who's been with the band for awhile now. That CD is surprisingly good,as I'd give it 3 1/2,maybe 4 stars.Keep in mind that guitarist Neal Schon is their 'key' player.Better with age This is the last cd done by JOURNEY with Mr. Perry as lead. It still has the magic that everyone who love Journey and Mr. Perry love. the track "When You Love a Woman" is just pure magic. While listening to this song you can see a motion picture form in you mind about what Steve Perry and Journey are trying to do. Show that love changes everything you see things from your loves eyes not just your own. and this comes through with the music and the vocals. It makes you want to fall in love again and again. Love the rest of the cd. Miss the music and the magic of Journey. Waiting paitently and hopeing for a come back by Steve Perry.
