Arnold Schwarzenegger made a successful transition to comedy with this 1990 box-office hit directed by Ivan Reitman. Arnold plays an undercover cop whose attempt to locate a little boy and his mother leads him to a small-town kindergarten class, where he poses as a teacher while continuing his investigation. He's also trying to catch a vicious drug dealer (Richard Tyson), whose ex-wife and son are the pair that Arnold's trying to rescue from impending danger. The scenes featuring Arnold and a classroom full of kindergartners are a real hoot, and Pamela Reed offers enjoyable support as Schwarzenegger's police partner, while Penelope Ann Miller (as another teacher) provides a low-key romantic interest and Carroll Baker steals her scenes as the villain's domineering mother. These familiar elements combine to make this a surprisingly lively and entertaining comedy-thriller, but parents are advised to heed the PG-13 rating: there are a lot of funny kids in the movie, but it's still a police thriller, with a violent climax that's not suitable for young viewers.--Jeff Shannon
"IT'S NOT A 'TOOMAH'!" - Ah Nuld Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as detective John Kimble, a man who has been chasing a drug dealer named Cullen Crisp. When he finally tracks Crisp down, he learns that the only way he can put Crisp away is by having his ex-wife testify against him. Kimble finds out the name of the school Crisp's son attends. He is then assigned a new partner, Phoebe O'Hara, who is going to go undercover as a kindergarten teacher, and the two travel to Astoria, Oregon. Unfortunately for Kimble, O'Hara becomes ill, and the only person who can take her place is him.
one of aronld's best outside of terminator 1 and 2 this movie was a mixture of action comedy and bit of emotional drama at first the movie starts out as action giving it the terminator 2 feel because aronld wore glasses and was in the mall looking 2 kill someone but then as he and his female partner go undercover as a sub for a kindergaten teacher that is when da comedy picks up and see a side to aronld i thought i would never get to see his chemisty with da kindergaten children is unreal this was aronld at his best but his performance would b top by terminator 2 da following year which was one of the best movies if not da best of 1991 while teaching his kindergaten class aronld meets a female teacher who teaches 4th grade they eventually become very close as the movie goes on and it makes the movie that much interesting and da lady teacher who teaches the 4th grade is the mom of one of aronld's students (the boy was a decent he goes undercover because he thinks da female teacher has some to do with stealing 3 million dollars and was apart of all da crimes her roten husband committed all those crimes but luckily da teacher was innocent and aronld with da help of his partner caught da bad guy and da skool was caught safe he and da teacher become a couple to gradually becoming marriedExcellent As a Christian I like good wholesome family entertainment. Accordingly I enjoyed this film. It was slightly tainted by Governor Schwarzenegger's recent duties in approving an execution, but apart from that it was jolly good fun.
