Oh..try this book, beautiful story Such a beautiful romance story. I love brave heroine ... and the love scene was absolute beautiful...I am your fans now Ms. Jeffries.
Excellent historical.... Kidnapped! Lady Venetia Campbell only wants to enjoy her long-awaited trip to Scotland. Her father, the Earl of Duncannon, agrees to the trip now that the dreaded bandit, the Scourge, is dead on one condition: that she agrees to a marriage within the next year. Unfortunately, the Scourge isn't dead and now Sir Lachlan Ross is demanding retribution from Venetia's father. But will he lose his heart to Venetia in the process?
BEWARE A SCOT'S REVENGE is part of the School for Heiresses series but is easily a stand alone story. The little snippets of correspondence at the beginning of each chapter add an aura of mystery to the story. This is the first full length book I've read by Sabrina Jeffries but I'm hoping to read more by her if only to see further glimpses of Cousin Michael and his intriguing letters!
Venetia is one spunky heroine! It is easy to admire her as she stands up for what she believes in and for those she loves. The rift between her father and Lachlan is heartbreaking, particularly as the story unveils. Venetia is perhaps the only sort of heroine who could heal wounds as deep as the ones that run in BEWARE A SCOT'S REVENGE because of her unswerving faith in those she loves.
Sabrina Jeffries creates a fascinating picture of Scottish life in the 1800s in BEWARE A SCOT'S REVENGE. From the pageantry of the balls to the corruption in the countryside, BEWARE A SCOT'S REVENGE is a multilayered novel, rich in historical detail. Easily recommended!
COURTESY OF CK2S KWIPS AND KRITIQUESGreat fluff that kept me up ... until 2:30 last night. Yes - just plain fun fluff - nothing more, nothing less. I thought the chemistry was very nicely done. I was worried when it said Jeffries was a missionary's daughter on the back cover but no religion was hinted at and no romance scenes were cut short. Beware Not Being Able to Put This One Down! My favorite by far in the series... Both the hero and heroine are so engaging! The plot is well-crafted and suspenseful, the love scenes are steamy, and you will really come to care about the characters and what happens to them--I was really rooting for them! I read this in two sittings, and I suspect YOU will devour it, too! A fantastic book that I highly recommend.Scottish Tale Well Told This book had characters who were quite romantic and appealing as well as a good story line. Being Scottish, words spoken in the brogue touch me. I have read several of Sabrina's other books, liked them all, but thus far this one is my favorite. I hope to buy more of her books.
