A fun and quick read This book is a quick and fun read. If you like sharks - this book is for you. Most chapters are only a few pages long making this an ideal read while waiting for the metro or before going to sleep. Get this book. Get books 2 and 3 because you'll want to keep reading.
One of the best books I ever read! This book I read in one day! Couldn't put it down. Steve Alten is an awesome writer. Well worth the money and then some!Sharks! I'm a big fan of Jaws and saw this cover and had to pick it up. Being Alten's early work it's not as in depth as his other novels but this was still a great read. Fun story with good characters. Well worth the pick up for any person who likes creature stories.Reliving Spielberg 1975 all over again! This story is just great. It's exciting, scary, mindless, fast-paced reading, and throws you back in that decadent time when Mr. Spielberg emerges with explosive, mass-anticipation of, 'Jaws,' and successfully delivers.
Although this book flows with a seemingly familiar plot, it is terrifying, and does recreate the horror, terror, and fun when you first watched, 'Jaws,' presumably, years ago. We all pretty much acknowledge there will never be a replica that even comes close to the sophistication and clever plot of 'Jaws.' Try not to compare the two, try to "go-with-the-flow" with this one, and not take it too tremendously serious. Just recanting the intense fear of the underwater unknown, was enough for me to just simply enjoy it without much critique involved.
This book is worth the adventure, and relieves the brain of serious matters. I read, Meg, a couple months ago, and after several serious novels thereafter, I am ready to continue on with Meg's sequel, 'The Trench.' Book, similar to music, selections are dependent on the type of mood that is present. You definitely have to be in a certain mood for these types of books, or at least I do. I highly reccomend this book for a mental getaway.MEG is one monster of a good book to read!!! MEG is a monster book, and will be enjoyed by "beach-readers" and even teens that dare to pick up a book! The best part of the MEG book is the author, a highly accessible Steve Alten. He reads his mail, and repsonds like no other author I have ever written to. He has the newest addition to the series waiting just out of reach....
Read MEG, and then think about going into the water. Todays' sharks will seem like goldfish.
