Unbelievable I recently heard Mr. Hedges interviewed on Democracy Now. I couldn't believe my ears. I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. This man has obviously had his head buried too far into the leftist domains of places like the Harvard Divinity School to have a clear perspective. I suggest that he get a job as a ranch hand in Wyoming or Montana or Idaho, and live among the people he fears for long enough to really understand. I'm one of them and I don't believe or think at all like he says we do. Unbelievable. He built a strawman out of his own fears, then attacked that. Get real. And for the record, Pat Robertson doesn't speak for me, or very many of us. Basically what he's done is similar to someone taking quotes from Malcolm X and then saying that all blacks think like that.
Hate Monger This man is a hate monger.
Steer clear.Like a typical liberal Hedges is intellectually dishonest... How can a sane and honest person compare few extreme cases of so-called Christian right to the fascist movement that is responsible for millions of deaths between 1930-1945? If anything, fascism was closer in its ideology to the democratic party of today. Big role of the government, socialistic ideals, limiting freedom of speech-sounds familiar? I see the liberals of today getting there fairly fast. I just heard Hedges on Dennis Prager show. When asked about his book, his research and conclusions all he had to say was "I will stick to my words". It's a pretty weak defense of ones work. I didn't expect more. There is an Islamofascist movement growing every day. We have 150 million muslims wanting to kill the West and we worry about Rudolf and few others. It just shows the ignorance of the left. Why don't you research the subject, get out of your comfort zone and challenge the false premises and conclusions in this and other books whining about non-existing problem of "Christian fascism"? Start looking for burkas and stop shaving your facial hair. The Christians that you hate so much will be your only defense.
