Excellent Read I can't say enough good things about this book. It is an amazing recount of the life of Crazy Horse by a fine lakota Historian, who mixes written history with the reliability of oral tradition. Insight is given into the persona of Crazy Horse on a very intimate level. This book is one that is an eye opener. I have always known of Crazy Horse since my youth and his legend is larger life, but this book fills in the blank spaces so that you get the bigger picture of the man and the legend. His propensity for being a reclusive quiet soul who refused to boast of his warrior exploits. A person who put others before himself. I enjoyed this perspective from beginning to end. I recommend this book be in your library as well as Marshall's other books. I am currently reading the lakota way and will purchase others.

books I had read this book and loved it so much that I ordered it for a friend for Christmas. Book came quickly and in great condition. Thankyou, [...]Sins of the Past The murder of Crazy Horse occurred one hundred and twenty-five years ago. The story of his death has been become a legend in the Lakota tribe. Our author tells the story of Crazy Horse and his work to have a fair peace with the United States. This is a sad part of our history. Our forefathers took what they wanted and on their terms. There have been some efforts where later generations have tried to compensate but most of the benefits have been eaten up in our bureaucracy. I don't have an answer and we cannot correct the past. This was a very well written and interesting book. By Ruth Thompson author or "The Bluegrass Dream" and "Natchez Above The River"
Very pleased The book arrived fast. It was exactly what I ordered and in great condition. Way of the Warrior Certainly this is a marvelous piece of writing on many levels. As the mother of two young boys, I valued it most of all for the window it provides into the old Lakota way of being a man. There are so many things to consider when raising boys (girls, too, I imagine, but that's not my particular issue!), so many models of what it means to be an honorable, strong, man. I appreciate Marshall's perspective on this.
