Read this book if your prayer life needs a little jolt. I like this book because Joyce reminded me of how powerful pray is yet we make it so difficult. She goes though different types of prayer and reminds us that prayer isn't just for when we need something. Prayer is so important for your relationship with Jesus Christ. He is our best friend and I like how this book made me want to spend time in prayer with HIM, not out of obligation, just because I love HIM.
A good but not simple book on prayer No doubt that this book is good. However, I am obliged to say that this is quite a simplified version of the classic "Prayer: Finding the Heart's True Home by Richard Foster" with plenty of passages on various types of prayers. Of similar content, "The Art of Prayer: A Simple Guide to Conversation with God by Timothy Jones" would be an easier and better read. By no means I am here to devalue this book. Very likely the author's own "21 ways to finding peace and happiness" (one of my all time favorites) did make me believe that she can write something consummate. On the other hand, if you would like to learn to pray simple yet powerful prayer, please read "Lord, Teach Us to Pray: A New Look at the Lord's Prayer by Arthur P. Boers".The Power of Simple Prayer The title was just what I had a need for. However, the seller never sent the book nor did I receive any response to my inquires. Perhaps the seller is still reading the book. Several sellers to choose from, I chose what appeared to be a Christian Ministry in the hopes the money would go to aid those less fortunate. I am still looking for the book, to improve my prayer life.Great resource!!! This is an awesome book. I purchased it because I was seeking a deeper connection with God. Joyce explains that prayer is just a converstation with God, and doesn't have to be a big production. It helped me to let go and just start talking to God the way that I would talk to any other friend. If you are seeking a deeper connection with God, I urge you to purchase it. You won't be disappointed.The Power of Simple Prayer Joyce Meyer is well-respected and loved by many and this book proves the praise is well deserved. She helps you get right with God by just simply telling you like it is. As she explains, Prayer is one of most simple yet powerful tools we have and mastering it (however you may define that for yourself) can bring a lifetime and contentment and joy knowing that you have a direct and close relationship with God through prayer. Prayer is for everyone of God's children. He doesn't care if you're eloquent or know exactly what words to say. All he cares about is that as His child you come to Him with your innermost thoughts and needs and praise. Joyce Meyer helps you find your way to pray and helps you find the words you want to say. Well worth the price of purchase. Don't hesitate to buy and read often. God is waiting to hear from you.
