Very enjoyable I read this book in one day. It was a very quick and easy read. The storyline is addicting - I had to know what was going to happen! The only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of character development and relationships. You do get a good insight into Katniss' personality, but I would have liked to learn more about the other characters. Collins barely touched on the relationship between Katniss and Gale which seems to be something Katniss thinks on throughout the book. I also would have liked to see a deeper relationship develop with Peeta. Given the circumstances and timeframe of the book, I can understand why the focus was on the games, but I could have stood a little more romance and conflict in Katniss' character. I really enjoyed the story overall and am very much looking forward to Book 2.
Captivating...genuine read! Collins writes a story that you on the edge of your seat at the last sentence of Chapter 1! Being a mom of four daughters this book completely tugged at my heart strings and so easily put their faces on a few characters in this story. Very emotional and you can see every frame as if you are watching the games right along with the audience of The Hunger Games. I will definitely be looking for Book 2 of this series! Well done!!!!Very Good Stephenie Meyer is incredible! I LOVE her books and now she has me addicted to a completely different writter. The Hunger Games is absolutly amazing. Im not the typical person who would read it (22, 2 kids and married) but I with out a doubt would recommend this to anyone that has a strong stomach! LOVED ITLoved it! I was hooked after the first chapter. I loved the main character Katniss and her strength of character. As I read the book I could picture the movie playing out in my head. Even though this was a little more fantasy than I normally like the human story was real and interesting. I would put a definate PG-13 on it for the violence.
I didn't know that this story wouldn't wrap up in the end so I was left hanging wanting more. Suzanne Collins when is the next one coming out.
