I am so sorry I am so sorry I read this book under the illusion it was a mystery type of book. The author has been writing on the edge of fictional biography/mystery, and this time she crossed the line. I got bewildered when the "plot" never turned up, the bad guys were just so unimportant that the twins linguistic skills just overrode their appearance on the scene and Peabody's maternal instincts just couldn't be bothered with evil doers. The book is probably fine for those who bought the author's work for reading about the sentimental family interrelations but for those who expected something more exciting it is a dissapointment. I feel as if I was sold this book on false pretenses.
Another generation to add to the fun! In this book we are treated to another generation of Emerson, and even though they are all under six, they do add to the story, and give us all something to look forward to in upcoming books. I also recommend that this book should be read in order. So many of the things that happen in each book are dependent on things that happened in previous books. This is another great adventure that is set in Amelia's beautiful Luxor. Even though The Great War is over, it doesn't mean that the Emersons are in less danger. Danger always seems to find them in the guise of tomb robbers, murderers and other nefarious characters. I won't say anymore. You will need to read this wonderful series for yourself, but be prepared for an exciting journey when you first begin your journey with the beloved Emersons.Very Good This Serise just keeps getting better and better. The Emerson's are at it agian and they are taking the rest of us along for the ride. God bless you Elizabeth Peters for continuing to put out quality material.
