Painful I used to be a huge evanovitch fan, but lately her books don't seem to be written by the same person. The story was OK -there were some funny moments -but overall it was painful to finish.
Not much difference I was excited about reading a book by Janet Evanovich, as I have followed all of the Stephanie Plum novels. I didn't start reading Plum until Ten Big Ones was released and I read an excerpt, at which point I went back to #1 and started there. Having done it this way, I enjoyed not having to wait for the next book to be released, although after I finished #11, I found myself disappointed that I would have to wait until #12. Thus began a quest for another Evanovich novel. I purchased Metro Girl and started into it. The problem was that I had a hard time separating the characters from the Plum novels. I kept picturing Stephanie and Morelli in all the reading. The book is detailed so much like the Plum's, from Alex getting her hair hacked off to to her relationship with her mother. While I enojyed the reading overall, Ms. Evanovich could have easily taken the plot and characters of this book and created another Plum novel. If you are looking for a horse of a different color, you won't find it here.METRO GIRL - What utter rubbish I am a big Stephanie Plum fan but this Barnaby character was absolutely awful, I would think twice before buying another Janet Evanovich novel. It was pure drivel.
